Sheffield City Trust

We were the first leisure trust formed in the UK. Since 1987 we’ve led the way with an unrivalled mix of sport, leisure and entertainment venues to become Sheffield City Trust. Our not-for-profit status means all our surplus is reinvested in improving our activities and venues to ensure we are here for the communities we serve. We are proud to be part of the fabric of our greater city.

Manor & Castle Development Trust

We are a community based charity that was set up in 1997 to work with local people to regenerate the neighbourhoods in the Manor and Castle ward.  We have moved from being an organisation that relied on grant funding to an enterprising community anchor organisation which will enable us to continue carry on working with the community and partners to continue to improve the lives of people who live and work in our area.

We have worked with our partners and local people to make a real difference to people’s lives and we intend to continue doing what we do best – working in partnership with organisations that share the same purpose and values, working with local people to take control of their own destiny and developing solutions to challenges.  A lot has been achieved since 1997, but there is still more to be done to make and sustain real long lasting changes.

Links SSP work closely with Manor & Castle on local projects in both school and the community, and are local providers for the Sheffield Healthy Holidays programme https://sheffieldhealthyholidays.org/

Sheffield Springs Academy & Youth Sport Trust – Lead Inclusion School

Link SSP work directly with YST & Springs Academy as Lead Inclusion for the City.

Springs Academy are one of 50 Lead Inclusion Schools across England who have been selected for their recognised expertise in engaging young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) to participate, compete and lead through PE, physical activity and school sport.

Lead Inclusion Schools are inclusion champions and visionaries for what high quality, meaningful and inclusive PE and school sport should look like for every child. They work to empower teachers to be more inclusive in their practice, provide meaningful competition and competition pathways for young people, raising their aspirations and providing inclusive leadership opportunities.

This network forms part of the Youth Sport Trust’s ongoing commitment to equality and diversity. Through our work we strive to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to participate in high quality PE and sport, regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender, ability or any other personal characteristic.

Sheffield City Council/ Sheffield Healthy Holidays

https://sheffieldhealthyholidays.org/

Links SSP are also a recognised provider for the HAF programme:-

This holiday provision is for school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals.

Benefits-related free school meals (FSM) are available to pupils if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, and have a claim verified by their school or local authority.

Further information on eligibility for free school meals is available.

Local authorities are asked to ensure that the offer of free holiday club provision is available for all children in receipt of benefits-related free school meals in their area, though this does not mean we expect all to attend as the provision is voluntary.

We also encourage local authorities to make the holiday clubs available to any children not receiving free school meals who can pay to attend. This might be through operating:
