Playground to Podium (P2P) is part of the PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP) and is a national talent identification programme seeking to find potential Paralympians for 2012 and beyond.
The key partners for Playground to Podium in South Yorkshire include Links School Sports Partnership, Youth Sport Trust, School Sports Partnerships (SSP's) in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley, Activity Sheffield, Within Reach, South Yorkshire Competition Managers, Federation of Disability Sport and National Governing Bodies.
Between September and July of each school year, 3 Talent Identifying days are held to help identify Young Disabled People (YDP) with higher abilities in PE/Sport. 2. To signpost YDP with talent to the ability days and then on the County Athlete Assessment Days (CAAD).
3. To increase participation on Out of School Hours Learning (OSHL) through multi-skill and multi sport clubs.
