Movement Festival 2009
This years Movement Festival was held at
the English Institute of Sport (EIS). It was not only a celebration of
movement but also the launch of a new partnership name. The Movement
Festival is the biggest event in the partnership calendar as it
involves students from primary, secondary and special schools.

The
event encourages schools to celebrate the creative work they have
developed in schools and share ideas with others. Performers
demonstrate a range of gymnastic and dance skills. What makes this
event so special is watching students who are not involved in more
traditional sporting activities enjoying being active. Students and
both teachers alike enjoy the opportunity to perform at such a high
profile event. This years event was supported by Courtney Fry, a
Commonwealth boxer. Courtney shared his own PE experiences at school
and encouraged students to give all sports a go. Next years event is
planned to be even bigger than the last encouraging parents to join the
celebration. |
